As fuel assistance grants run out, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Verani Realty’s (Verani) Windham office turned their efforts to offering some residents greatly needed fuel assistance. With winnings from a contest won through VeraniCARES – a philanthropic and social development arm of Verani Realty – the office donated $2,000 to B&H Oil Company to help needy local families and individuals stay warm for the remainder of the heating season.

The contest, called VeraniCARES 3.2.1, encouraged offices to increase their percentage of agents who voluntarily contribute any dollar amount to VeraniCARES on an ongoing basis. The winning team then donates to the charity of their choice. Verani’s Windham office presented checks to B&H Oil Company in Salem to target the towns of Windham and Salem with each receiving $1,000. Both locations were identified as having a high number of veterans, families and individuals who are in need of heating assistance.

“Our Windham office was noted for having the highest percentage of cooperating agents giving back to the VeraniCARES fund last fall,” said Deb Paone, managing broker of Verani’s Windham office. “This shows that we truly care about our community and those who live in it. We are delighted to do our part to give back and this donation is just one of the many ways we do so.”

VeraniCARES engages agents and employees in philanthropy and social development by offering the opportunity to raise funds through donations. Verani Realty also matches a portion of each donation contributed by agents and employees. Learn more about VeraniCARES at verani.com.
