Proceeds from game’s Chuck-a-Puck Donated to Family Recovering from House Fire

Agent Kelly Williams delivers donation check to Deerfield Community School

Verani Realty kicked off the holiday season of giving by spending an evening at the SNHU arena with the Manchester Monarchs and watching some hockey for a good cause. Chuck-a-Puck proceeds during the November 17 game were given to VeraniCARES, Verani Realty’s social development arm. The event raised $500, which was donated to a Deerfield family that recently lost everything in a house fire.

Over 60 Verani agents, staff and family members cheered on the Monarchs as they faced the Worcester Railers. During the break for Chuck-a-Puck, when spectators throw foam pucks onto the ice at a target for a chance to win prizes, all the kids in attendance had the chance to go out on the ice and gather up the pucks. Everyone enjoyed the night out despite the fact the Monarchs were edged out by the Worcester Railers 2-1.

Verani agent Kelly Williams brought the family’s cause to the attention of VeraniCARES because of her close connection to the family through the community – her daughter is friends with one of the girls in the family affected.  She recently delivered the night’s proceeds to the Deerfield Community School, which has been busy organizing donations of gift cards so the family can buy clothes, food, and other essentials.

“This family is what Deerfield is all about. They are always the first to lend a helping hand to others so it only made sense for us and the community around them to be there in their time of need” said Kelly. “Of course, with the holidays, it adds more stress to an already difficult situation. Our company’s mission statement is founded on this very principle, ‘enhancing the lives of the community’ and it feels really good that VeraniCARES is there to help offer support to the family’s rebuilding efforts.”

The family currently has a GoFundMe set up, and anyone who is interested can donate. Click here to learn more about VeraniCARES.
