Verani Realty’s Belmont Agents Support Local Efforts to End Domestic and Sexual Violence

Office makes $2,000 donation to New Beginnings as part of statewide giving campaign

For people in Belknap County who encounter sexual, domestic or stalking violence, New Beginnings – Without Violence and Abuse has been a trusted source of support and advocacy for over 25 years. Recognizing the important role New Beginnings plays in the safety of local communities, Verani Realty donated $2,000 to the nonprofit this May.

The donation will be used in conjunction with the agency’s new Housing First program. Housing First helps survivors of domestic and sexual violence achieve stability and independence in our community, while working closely with an advocate to meet their financial goals, strengthen family relationships, and build the skills they need to move forward safely and independently.

The funds were donated through Verani Realty’s philanthropic and social development initiative, VeraniCARES. Verani Realty agents and staff have the option of donating to VeraniCARES by either payroll deduction or from sales commissions, and Verani Realty will match up to $10 per donation. VeraniCARES is supporting many community and charitable initiatives across New Hampshire and Massachusetts during the month of May as part of its May Day campaign, which is expected to disperse $40,000 to those in need through nonprofits.

“When we were asked to choose an organization to support for our May Day campaign, New Beginnings immediately came to mind,” said Jon Delmar, Regional Manager of Verani Realty’s Belmont office. “Their staff and volunteers provide a critical safety net for individuals and families who are experiencing violence, and by supporting victims and survivors they make our region a safer place to live. We are proud to support their hard work and join them in working toward a future free of sexual and domestic violence.”

New Beginnings is a private nonprofit organization dedicated to ending domestic and sexual violence through services, community education, and prevention work. Their services include a 24-hour crisis line, an emergency shelter, court advocacy, support groups, hospital accompaniment, emergency assistance, and education and outreach. Prevention education programming reaches students in grades K-12 county-wide using evidence-based, age appropriate programming. All services are free and confidential, and they have served Belknap County since 1991. Today, they serve over 700 individuals annually.
