Maggie Kerkhoff Named 2017 GMNBR Realtor of the Year; Nancy Philbrick Receives Good Neighbor Award

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Verani Realty had two of their agents take home notable awards at the Greater Manchester/Nashua Board of Realtors (GMNBR) awards banquet last week at Fratello’s in Manchester, NH.  Maggie Kerkhoff has been named the 2017 Greater Manchester/Nashua Board of Realtors (GMNBR) Realtor of the Year, and Nancy Philbrick received the 2017 Good Neighbor Award.

Kerkhoff takes advantage of educational opportunities that are provided through her board’s membership, which allows her to continuously learn and develop as a realtor. She believes volunteering her time at a local level assists in promoting Realtor®, which in-turn helps to elevate the public’s perception of Realtors®. Kerkhoff exemplifies the Realtor® spirit and takes great pride in being an active realtor throughout the communities she serves. Kerkhoff understands the importance of the Realtors® Code of Ethics, it’s an integral component of her business as she models her daily practice with the Code of Ethics in mind. She doesn’t hesitate to assist other realtors with learning how to apply it to their daily business practices.

Kerkhoff has over twelve years of experience in the real estate industry. She is the regional sales manager for Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Verani Realty, where she is responsible for recruiting and training talented agents, and increasing profitability and productivity in her region.

In 2012, Kerkhoff was a top office sales agent for Coldwell Banker’s Amherst location; she achieved President’s Circle status for being in the top 8% of sales, and she was consistently ranked among the top five within her office for sales from 2011-2015. Kerkhoff has a law degree from Suffolk University Law School and a bachelor’s degree in Government and a concentration in Mathematics from Wheaton College. She is a certified negotiation specialist, is relocation certified and is licensed in New Hampshire.

“I am honored to receive this award and recognition and am proud to represent the members of GMNBR,” said Kerkhoff in regards to being presented with the award.

Applicants for the Realtor of the Year (ROTY) are evaluated by a committee of the past ROTY and AOTY members and other designated members to review the recipient’s participation and service to the board a full year period prior to receiving this award.

 

Nancy PhilbrickNancy Philbrick – Good Neighbor Award

The GMNBR Good Neighbor Award, recognizes GMNBR REALTOR® members who made a commitment to enhancing the quality of life in their communities through volunteerism. Among the activities that qualify for consideration are involvements in affordable housing issues, efforts to improve the quality of education in an area, supporting community youth activities and work on other community based, not for profit agencies.

On winning the award and understanding the significance behind this recognition Philbrick said, “I value the importance of giving give to back to my predecessors in the community and hope to make their lives brighter and to ensure they feel cared for and important. It is wonderful to be an instrumental part of such a great organization and it’s a true honor to receive this recognition.”

Philbrick was one of four nominees to be recognized and commended for their volunteerism and social responsibility. However, what made Philbrick stand out over the other nominees is her tenacity to maintain independence and dignity through the spirit of volunteerism.

Philbrick is a veteran volunteer for not only the organization that is named but through other groups and as a long-term member of GMNBR while representing the Board in various positions. She also spreads the true meaning of volunteerism by recruiting other volunteers to help. PhilBrick a New Hampshire native is a top producing agent with the Berkshire Hathaway

Aside from being honored with the GMNBR Good Neighbor award, Philbrick also received a check for $1000.00 to donate to the charity of her choice. The gift will be donated to The CareGivers, an organization which provides assistance to the elderly and disabled in the Greater Manchester and Nashua areas to help individuals remain in their homes.

The Greater Manchester/Nashua Board of REALTORS® (GMNBR) is a real estate association located in Bedford, NH, and is the largest of fourteen REALTOR® association boards in the Granite State. With over 1,300 REALTOR® members working with buyers and sellers in sixteen cities and towns in Southern NH and Massachusetts.
