May Balsama Receives Greater Manchester/Nashua Board of REALTORs Good Neighbor Award
May Balsama, a realtor at Verani Realty's Amherst office, recently received the Good Neighbor Award from the Greater Manchester/Nashua Board of REALTORs (GMNBR) for her extensive work in the local community. The Good Neighbor Award was established in 2002 to recognize GMNBR members who make extraordinary commitments to improve their communities through volunteerism.
In addition to being recognized at GMNBR’s annual awards gala, Balsama received $1,000 to donate to a charity of her choice. She was honored for her work on several community initiatives, including the Amherst Community Foundation, where she sits on the Board of Directors; the Milford Rotary Club, where she is Assistant Secretary of their Board of Directors; the Moving Wall traveling Vietnam Veterans memorial; the Veterans Auction; and VeraniCARES, Verani’s social development and philanthropic arm.
Balsama and her husband Richard, who work together, have been ranked as the No. 1 team in real estate for the Souhegan Valley Region for the past four years, and have more than 35 years of experience in the southern New Hampshire real estate markets. A member of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices’ Honor Society, which recognizes top performers, May specializes in historic homes, multi-family homes, short sales, and bank-owned and investment properties. An active member of her community, she was named Amherst Citizen of the Year in 2012 and was one of the Nashua Telegraph’s 25 Outstanding Women in Nashua in 2013.
The Greater Manchester Nashua Board of REALTORS® is based in Bedford and is the largest REALTOR association board in New Hampshire, with over 1,300 members. Its mission is to give members the resources needed to provide professional and ethical service for their customers, clients and communities. GMNBR also advocates on behalf of real estate practitioners.
