A Furry Affair: A hidden gem offers fur babies a "Spaw Day" and more in Concord, NH

Do you have a furry companion that means the world to you? If so, I have found a hidden gem that is worth a visit in Concord NH. Since moving here a little over a year ago, I tried the “big box” grooming salons and it just didn’t give my Goldendoodle, Killian, the special treatment that I believe he deserves. When asking around, a friend recommended A Furry Affair and I have been a loyal customer ever since. Not to mention, Killian loves getting pampered at his “Spaw Day”.

From the moment you walk in this sweet little shop, you can tell there is care and love. You are pleasantly greeted by the friendly staff and the fun pet friendly décor. This full service pet boutique caters to both canine and feline family members. The owner, Jen Batchelder, takes a holistic approach when caring for your pet and their coat. A Furry Affair offers breed standard or owner specific grooming techniques while using as many all natural products as possible. Their main mission is to have happy two legged and four legged clients.

Does your little guy get timid when he has to go to the beauty parlor? A Furry Affair has a solution for that! They offer a cage free grooming alternative for those “Nervous Nellies”. This allows those furry family members who are nervous or scared a place to chill before their pampering starts. The salon has an upstairs area that is fully staffed Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and have separate spaces for large and small breeds. Of course, this service is available to anyone whether they’re being groomed or just need a play date.

If that’s not enough, they also offer treats and training! Jen believes in and supports other local companies when selecting the treats and nutritional supplements offered in her salon. A Furry Affair has trainers that offer basic, trick and rally classes. Your little fur babies are awarded a certification at the end of the program.
